COLUMBUS – Businessman Danny Bedwell of Columbus says he’s running for the 1st District U.S. House seat.
Bedwell will be the standard-bearer for the Libertarian Party of Mississippi, for which he is chairman. He adds that he’s a retired military man.
As a third-party nominee, Bedwell’s name will be on the Nov. 3 general election ballot with the winners of Democratic and Republican party primaries.
Alan Nunnelee of Tupelo, a Republican, seeks to win a second term to the House.
Tuesday, Southaven businessman Robert Estes filed qualifying papers to run as a Republican.
