Belden man's plea date set in alleged heroin plot

OXFORD – Wesley Brandon of Belden will plead guilty to one count of a federal indictment, court records show.
Brandon’s plea hearing is set for Sept. 6 before U.S. District Judge Sharion Aycock in Oxford.
Brandon, 32, was indicted in June on two counts related to an alleged conspiracy to sell heroin.If convicted on both counts, he faced up to 40 years in prison and a $1 million fine.
He also faces a DUI-Death indictment surrounding the 2011 vehicular death of John E. Bell in Lee County.
The Lee County case was passed over in the August term of circuit court.
