Belden resident jailed for credit card fraud

BELDEN – A Belden personal care home resident admitted to using another resident’s credit card without permission.
Jerry Taylor, 47, pleaded guilty to one count of credit card fraud Wednesday in Lee County Circuit Court. He had been indicted by a Lee County grand jury in September 2010.
Taylor was sentenced to three years in prison, with two years suspended and one to serve, followed by two years post-release supervision.
At the time the crime was committed, Taylor and the victim were both residents of Rosewood Personal Care Home in Belden. Taylor used the victim’s credit card without permission to make purchases for himself totaling $3,207.61 in gas, gift cards, food and other goods and services from Walmart, Kroger, Shell Oil, Fred’s and Dollar General.
