Three indie altos to perform at Monthly Music Mix show
Tupelo native Mary Frances Massey, Nashville singer-songwriter Ashley Rose and former Miss Mississippi Kristian Dambrino, also a songwriter who’s now based in Nashville, are performing at this month’s Music Mix concert at the Link Centre.
All three will share their original music and songs they love at the show, which is at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at the Link Centre’s Concert Hall.
It’s $10/adults, $5/students.

Christian artists fill roster at Adios Summer 2012
Manifest Destiny, Schepe, Comeback Famous, Josh Buford Band, Yahweh’s, Last Adam, David Ashley, Matt King and Christian Seay are all on the bill for this year’s Adios Summer Christian music festival.
The festival is from 2-10 p.m. Saturday at BNA Bank Park in New Albany.

‘Steel Magnolias’ grace the stage at the Powerhouse next week
Truvy, Shelby, Annelle, Ouiser, Clairee and M’Lynn will come to life at Theatre Oxford’s production of “Steel Magnolias” at the Powerhouse in Oxford next week.
The classic Southern comedy will be staged at 8 p.m. Aug. 22-25, and 1 p.m. Aug. 26. Tickets are $10/Theatre Oxford members and $12/non-members.
A special dinner will take place ahead of the Aug. 22 show, and tickets are $30/members, $40/non-members.

Lee Bains III and band play three regional shows
There are three chances to see Lee Bains III & the Glory Fires live in the area this weekend.
The rock band, based in Birmingham, Ala., will start its tour tonight at Proud Larry’s in Oxford. The show’s at 9 p.m. and tickets are $8.
On Friday, the group travels to Memphis for a gig at the Hi-Tone at 9 p.m. Tickets are $7.
The Glory Fires will perform at the Blue Canoe in Tupelo at 8:30 p.m. Saturday and tickets are $5.
