NYCity Slickers to perform, host jam at Link Centre show
Bluegrass band the NYCity Slickers is performing tonight at the Link Centre’s concert hall.
The band’s progressive style mixes in blues, zydeco and country, with a musical-theatre flair.
The show starts at 7:30 tonight, and tickets are $10/adults, $5/students.
There will be a barbecue and beer dinner before the show at the Link Centre’s reception hall at 6 p.m., and tickets for that are $25, which includes the dinner and show.
Following the show, there’ll be a jam session, where musicians are welcome to join the NYCity Slickers on stage.

Music, contests, more at Black Sheep Revival in Tupelo
Ironclad Tattoo Gallery in Saltillo is hosting the Black Sheep Revival, a night of music, contests, tattoos and more.
The event kicks off Friday, where the gallery will be open from noon-midnight for $20 black sheep tattoos.
At 5 p.m. Saturday at Goodtime Charlie’s in Tupelo, there’ll be contests, music by Rooster Blues, giveaways and more.
The contests include Mr. Puniverse, best pin-up, girls’ arm wrestling and a hot wing eating contest.

Chili Fest is Friday in downtown Tupelo
There are two chances to enjoy this year’s Chili Fest in Tupelo on Friday.
The lunchtime fest is 11 a.m.-1:30 p.m., with music by Tatum Shappley. It’s $5.
The evening festival is 5-10 p.m., with dinner served from 5-8. Two Drink Minimum will perform. Tickets are $10.
Chili Fest is on Broadway Street between Main and Troy Streets.

West of Shake Rag presents Halloween show at Link Centre
Costumes are encouraged at this weekend’s West of Shake Rag Halloween show.
Five dollars buys you an evening of improv comedy, candy and popcorn.
The show is 7:30 p.m. Saturday and it’s at the Link Centre’s Black Box Theatre.
