Approximately 30 area bikers turned out for Saturday’s benefit ride for Itawamba County Boy Scout Troop 32, a trip that took the leather-clad pack of riders on a three-hour trip through the rolling hills of northeast Mississippi.
The ride was hosted by local Masons, many of them who are motorcycle enthusiasts. The money raised during the event will be used to help purchase a trailer for the Boy Scouts, which will be used to haul equipment on camping trips.
According to Kelly Martin, a representative of the area Masonic lodge and a biker himself, the event was hopefully the first of many.
“We’re really proud of our turnout and the beautiful weather,” he said. “We’re happy to get to help our local Scouts.”
