– The Mabry-Hodges home was built in 1910 by William G. Mabry Jr. and his wife, Clara Sansom. The current home was built on the site of another home. The three original outbuildings that remain are a barn, smokehouse and garage. Mabry’s father, William G. Mabry Sr., built some of the first buildings on the University of Mississippi campus.
– The 8,000-square-foot home has remained in the same family for four generations.
– The home is filled with numerous antiques from Houston Mitchell Minniece Jr.’s family, including a half-tester bed that former U.S. President and Union Commander Ulysses S. Grant slept in.
– The home, which has been the site of two weddings, two deaths and one birth, is owned by Houston and Becky Minniece of Okolona. The home is not open to the public.
