There’s a new restaurant in Saltillo, Charlie’s Catfish & Grill, which opened last week.
The owners are Cindy and Charles Moudy Jr., who used to be catfish farmers in the Mississippi Delta for 20 years. Cody Moudy is the cook.
The restaurant, located at 2299 Highway 145 in Saltillo next to the Farmers Market is where Malone’s Catfish Express was open for a little while a couple of years ago.
Charlie’s is open Tuesday-Friday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., serving a Southern plate lunch consisting of a meat and two veggies, plus bread and dessert, for $6.99.
It’s “good, homemade food,” Cindy said.
Wednesday through Saturday, it also serves an all-you-can-eat catfish buffet from 4:30 p.m. to 10 p.m., for $13.99. A sign out front also says frog legs are on the buffet.
Dine-in or carry out are available. They’ll deliver to businesses within a 15-mile radius, with a minimum of five orders.
The phone number is (662) 869-5998.
