24 classrooms to get complete technology packages

Thanks to the Appalachian Regional Commission, Three Rivers Planning and Development District, eInstruction and a division of the Governor’s office, 24 classrooms in Northeast Mississippi will get free “complete technology packages.”

Eight school districts in Pontotoc, Union and Lee counties representing the 24 classrooms will receive a complete classroom instruction system from eInstruction (a global education technology company) that includes a mobile interactive whiteboard for the teacher, fixed touch-screen interactive whiteboard, student response devices and examination software to help students prepare for state testing.

eInstruction is donating 12 of the packages while the ARC is donating the other 12.

Ole Miss’ Center for Educational Research and Evaluation will help evaluate the technology pilot project with additional support from the North Mississippi Education Consortium, which will provide services to teachers who will incorporate the technology in their classroom.
