Blount's sentence date set in Greenville

GREENVILLE – Wendell Blount of Calhoun County will be sentenced Oct. 27, an event delayed nearly a year after he allegedly left house arrest to avoid prison.
Blount, 60, was convicted in April 2010 in the Natchez Trace Parkway vehicular death of a Dutch cyclist, Esther Hagemann, in 2009.
U.S. District Judge W. Allen Pepper will preside over his sentence hearing set for 1:30 p.m. in Greenville.
Blount faces up to 33 years in prison.
