Blue Mountain College attains record enrollment

BLUE MOUNTAIN — Enrollment at Blue Mountain College has reached 500 for the first time in the school’s 137-year history.

President Bettye Rogers Coward said enrollment has increased 7 percent since last year.

Blue Mountain is in northeast Mississippi’s Tippah County, near Ripley.

The Baptist-affiliated college was founded as a women’s school.

Men have been able to study there since 1956 for church-related vocations. All of Blue Mountain’s academic programs have been open to men since 2005.
