Blue Springs sets annexation hearing

By NEMS Daily Journal

BLUE SPRINGS – Residents of this town will have a chance to register their opinions about a proposed annexation plan at Union County Chancery Court at 9:30 a.m. Monday. As proposed, the expansion would triple the municipality’s size from 1.3 square miles to 4.5 square miles, and its population would double from 228 people to 461.
Much of the expansion area is in the line of potential business growth expected in response to this fall’s planned start of production at the Toyota plant just south of town.
