SALTILLO – BNA Bank broke ground Thursday on a new 3,325 square-foot banking center at 2919 Tom Watson Drive just north of Fairfield Inn & Suites in the busy Barnes Crossing District.
It is BNA’s second office in the Tupelo market. It opened its Belden banking center on McCullough Boulevard in 2007. That branch was BNA’s first office outside of Union County.
The Barnes Crossing branch, which will employ 10 to 15 people, should be open in November.
“We believe strongly in the Tupelo market and in Northeast Mississippi,” said BNA Bank President and CEO Bo Collins.
BNA also donated $10,000 to the CREATE Tornado Relief Fund.
The new office will feature a new high-touch personalized banking service to its customers that eliminates the traditional teller line, official said. Also, the office will have two drive through lanes and a dedicated drive up ATM lane with night depository.
Level5 of Atlanta has been contracted to plan, design and build the facility with local subcontractors being used for all phases of construction.
Collin said Level5 “has designed our new center so our bankers will be able to greet our customers at the door and provide customized personal service to each and everyone. Our staff will no longer have to service our customers from behind the barrier of a teller line. In addition, LEVEL5 understands how to integrate new technology and methods of delivering banking services into banking centers cost effectively without sacrificing personal service to customers.”
The Barnes Crossing center will concentrate on personal and small business financial services. In addition to traditional bank services, the center also will offer mortgage loans, insurance and investment services. BNA Bank is a state chartered bank with about $425 million in assets that was established in 1896.
