Board sets Tupelo Interim Superintendent Meadows’ salary

TUPELO – Tupelo Interim Superintendent David Meadows will earn a pro-rated annual salary of $88,828.50 during his tenure as the district’s leader.
Because Meadows is a retired educator, state law says that he can earn half of what that position pays and can work half of days normally required of the position. Previous Superintendent Randy Shaver earned $177,657 per year on a 240-day contract. The 120 days that Meadows will work will roll over when the new fiscal year begins on July 1.
The school board approved Meadows’ pay and time on Wednesday.
