TUPELO – The community will celebrate fun, friends and fitness Monday night.
The Boerner Be Wild Festival, which was rescheduled because of weather worries on April 22, will be in full swing starting at 5:30 p.m. Monday at Ballard Park.
The festival, organized by the Healthy Tupelo Task Force and Tupelo Parks and Recreation, honors the late community and fitness advocate Hank Boerner, who died unexpectedly in December.
The festival will feature live music, an obstacle fun run and skate park dedication. Cheeseburgers in Paradise, an homage to Boerner’s love of Jimmy Buffet, and drinks will be available for purchase.
The Boern to Run kid’s challenge, organized by the Tupelo Public School for elementary students will have packet pick up starting at 5:30 p.m. and races starting at 6 p.m.
Registration for the obstacle fun run, which is open to anyone, will also begin at 5:30 p.m. with races starting at 6:15 p.m.
