Bomb threat called in to MTD

UPDATE 9:22 p.m. : Law enforcement gave the all-clear for workers to go back into the building.

According to Lee County Sheriff Jim Johnson, “We had a third party call of a bomb threat at MTD this afternoon. We searched the building with the MTD supervisers and did not find anything. We then had another call into our 911 dispatch from a caller stating a bomb threat around 5:30. We again responded and found nothing. As of now we are looking into where the call came from.”


According to the scanner, a bomb threat has been called in for the second time today to MTD.
MTD is located on Highway 145 and has a Shannon address.
The threat was called in to 911 around 8 p.m. and the building was evacuated by about 8:40 p.m.
