Bond for Takei McFarland, 21, and Brandon Beckley, 22 was set at $200,000 each in connection with a Friday car accident that claimed the life of a 61-year-old Nettlteton woman.
Verona Police Chief Leo Mask said the men are currently being charged with culpable negligence manslaughter and leaving the scene of an accident.
McFarland and Beckley are suspected to have been under the influence of drugs, according to Mask and after the results of their drug tests are back more charges could be added.
According to Mask and several witnesses at the scene, two men in a Pontiac Grand Prix collided head-first with Hester’s Ford Probe about 10:30 a.m. Friday. The men then jumped out of the car and ran away. Before coming to a stop, the car the men were in hit several vehicles in a nearby parking lot.
