BOONEVILLE – Almost a year after pleading guilty to federal bank fraud charges and while still awaiting sentencing in federal court, Booneville attorney Thomas D. Keenum has been permanently disbarred from practicing law in Mississippi.
The Mississippi Supreme Court issued the order on May 20, in response to Keenum’s Notice of Irrevocable Resignation submitted to the Mississippi Bar, according to court documents.
Keenum, respected in the legal community for many years, closed his law practice in 2009 and faces up to 30 years in prison and up to $1 million in fines and possible restitution.
