BOONEVILLE – Drivers entering Booneville from the east will be able to use the new Highway 30 bypass southbound route beginning at noon Monday.
The Mississippi Department of Transportation on Friday announced the opening for the stretch, where officials on Sept. 6 held a ribbon-cutting.
The project provides an eight-mile southern bypass of Booneville beginning at a new connection of existing Highway 30 east of the intersection of Highway 30 and Highway 364 and continuing to a new interchange on U.S. 45 south of Booneville.
Officials urge motorists to use caution as they travel the new route, as road workers may still be finishing up work in some areas.
