BOONEVILLE – More than a dozen people have been arrested by the North Mississippi Narcotics Unit and the Booneville Police Department in a drug roundup.
It was the second largest drug bust in the Prentiss County town’s recent history.
All told, 14 people were charged late Thursday and early Friday with offenses like the sale and possession of crack cocaine, conspiracy to sell crack cocaine, possession and the sale of crystal methamphetamine.
The arrests were the culmination of three and a half months of work by the two agencies, said Booneville Police Chief Jerry Barnes.
In February of 1995, 24 people were arrested in a drug roundup, the largest ever for the town, Barnes said.
