Booneville native to manage new Cracker Barrel

CORINTH – The new Cracker Barrel Old Country Store officially opens Monday at 6 a.m., and it will be managed by a Booneville native.

Jason King, who started with the company in 1999 after serving in the U.S. Navy as a machinist mate, was tapped as the restaurant’s general manager.

“Transitioning to Cracker Barrel from the Navy was a great fit for me,” King said. “The skill set that I built while in the Navy has allowed me to build a career and be a leader in Cracker Barrel.”

The restaurant is located at1900 U.S. 72 W., and will be open Sunday-Thursday from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m

The 8,960-square-foot store is Cracker Barrel’s 12th location in Mississippi, and it will employ about 200 people.

After beginning his Cracker Barrel career as a server and working at several Cracker Barrel locations in Virginia, Tennessee and Mississippi, King was offered the general manager position in Corinth.

“This store has allowed for me to move back to the area I grew up in,” he said. “Not only did Cracker Barrel provide me a chance to advance my career they also provided a chance for me to be closer to my family in Booneville.”
