Booneville superintendent will retire in June

Booneville – School Superintendent Rickey Neaves will retire on June 30 to accept a job with the Mississippi High School Activities Association.
Neaves submitted his letter of retirement to the school board at its meeting Thursday night. He will become the associate director of athletics for the MHSAA.
Neaves is in his fourth year as Booneville’s superintendent and his 15th year in the district after spending the previous 11 as a principal.
The Booneville superintendent is appointed by the school board. Neaves said the Mississippi School Board Association would advertise the position and conduct initial interviews before presenting a list of five to seven candidates to the Booneville board.
