OXFORD – Dwight G. Bowling is on his way to serve his 300-month sentence in a sex with-minors scandal.
Monday, the U.S. Bureau of Prisons’ website showed the 56-year-old former Smithville coach was in the Oklahoma City Federal Transfer Center, where some federal prisoners are held on their way to more permanent quarters.
Before that, Bowling was held in the Lafayette County Detention Center in Oxford.
He pleaded guilty to federal charges of transporting minor males across state lines for sex and for witness tampering in trying to get a young man to lie about their longtime relationship.
He entered conditional guilty pleas to state charges of fondling minor males and for attempted witness tampering.
After his federal term is over, he will face more state prison time.
