Broyles doesn’t plead, slated for trial Monday

By NEMS Daily Journal

OXFORD – David Broyles apparently decided not to plead guilty Wednesday to a Monroe County bank robbery.
Minutes of his 21-minute hearing before Chief U.S. District Judge Michael P. Mills show Broyles was scheduled to do so, but did not and is set for trial Monday.
Broyles, 35, of the Prairie community was indicted in March 2010 on three federal counts – that he robbed Cadence Bank in Aberdeen of $70,500 using a 9mm semi-automatic pistol, which he brandished during the alleged robbery.
He’ll go before Mills for a jury trial and if found guilty faces up to life in prison and fines of $500,000.
