Buffalo Park welcomes baby monkey

The Tupelo Buffalo Park and Zoo welcomed a baby female capuchin monkey Tuesday morning.

TUPELO – The Tupelo Buffalo Park and Zoo had a baby Tuesday morning – a baby capuchin monkey.

The little girl was born around 5 a.m. Tuesday, and the park officials are reaching out to community members to help name the monkey.

Anyone who wants to help name the monkey is asked to submit suggestions to the Tupelo Buffalo Park and Zoo’s Facebook page or at TupeloBuffaloPark.com.

The winner of the naming contest will receive a T-shirt and family pass to the park.

The capuchin monkey is native to tropical rain forests from Nicaragua to Paraguay.
