Farmers face Saturday acreage report deadline
– TUPELO – The Lee County office of the Farm Service Agency reminds farmers that Saturday is the deadline to report acreage of 2010 fall-seeded crops such as wheat.
Producers who report after May 1 will have to pay a late filing fee per farm. The FSA says reporting acreage is important since eligibility for most FSA program benefits are contingent on all cropland acreage being reported.
