Buffalo Wild Wings a step closer

TUPELO – A Buffalo Wild Wings franchise owner has submitted construction plans for a restaurant in the Tupelo Commons development.
Rick Story, a Nashville-area builder and developer, in April signed a letter of intent on property between Wendy’s and Lenny’s Sub Shop.
The plans submitted to Tupelo’s planning department show a nearly 3,000-square-foot restaurant with 264 seats, plus a patio with 48 additional seats.
Story was unavailable for comment on Thursday, but a spokeswoman said the plans were “preliminary steps” as the company seeks the necessary permits to build the restaurant.
Construction of the restaurant could begin as early as August. Two other restaurants also are under construction in the area – Crossroads Rib Shack and Longhorn Steakhouse.
Story’s company, Story Construction, has built restaurants in 43 states. He owns BWW franchise rights in Florence, Ala., where he opened a location in March. Another restaurant is planned for Decatur, Ala.
Founded in 1981, Buffalo Wild Wings Grill & Bar has more than 750 franchised and company-owned restaurants in 45 states.
