About 110 children from the North Mississippi Medical Center Day Care dressed up like cows Friday as part of a national Chick-fil-A promotion called Cow Appreciation Day. Customers wearing partial cow attire (cow headband or cow-print hat) got a free entree as part of the fifth annual event. Customers who showed up fully dressed as cows got a free combo meal. Leslie Flowers, marketing director for the Chick-fil-A location inside the Mall at Barnes Crossing, said along with the day care group, the restaurant was busy all day with customers in homemade costumes.
The standalone store and the food court location reported they gave away about 400 meals Friday.
Also, the food court location will close Sunday through Wednesday for a remodel. Flowers said the vendor will get a new look, including new tiles and new menu boards.
