Gap, others to open Tupelo locations

TUPELO – Gap is set to open a factory store in the former Circuit City location in Tupelo.
The clothing retailer joins other this week in making known intentions to open in the Barnes Crossing area.
The store is slated to open next year in the Market Center, according to plans Gap Inc. submitted to Tupelo’s development services department.
The shopping center is home to Old Navy and Shoe Carnival and shares ownership with The Mall at Barnes Crossing.
A temporary Halloween store called Spirit currently occupies the building where Gap will open its store.
Phil Purdom, senior vice president and mall leasing for David Hocker & Associates, the mall’s co-owner, declined to comment because he said a lease hasn’t been signed.
Gap outlets sell Gap-branded clothing at a discounted price. The closest outlet to Tupelo is in Tunica.
Gap currently leases space inside the mall and sells adult, kids and baby clothes.

Women’s apparel retailer Chico’s has turned in plans for a store inside The Mall at Barnes Crossing.
The proposed space is near the food court.
Chico’s specializes in women’s clothing and accessories. Chico’s parent company, Chico’s FAS, owns Chico’s, White House | Black Market, Soma Intimates and Boston Proper.
The company operates more than 601 Chico’s boutiques and 83 outlets.
Purdom said a lease has not been signed and could not comment about the plans.

Pizza Pro is opening in the former Cici’s Pizza location, according to Jeff Snyder, general manager of The Mall of Barnes Crossing.
The restaurant is in the Market Center, where Cici’s closed several weeks ago.
Pizza Pro is a franchise operation with more than 500 locations in 18 states. It will open November 15, Snyder said.

Francesca’s, a specialty women’s boutique, will open in The Mall at Barnes Crossing, according to Snyder.
The retailer sells clothing, shoes, jewelry, accessories and other gift items.
The company has stores in 44 states.
In Mississippi, it has locations in Flowood at Dogwood Festival shopping center and in Ridgeland at Renaissance Place. and
