The exterior of Deco Direct in Tupelo doesn’t do justice to the large amount of merchandise inside.
The nearly five-year old business is in a warehouse off McCullough Boulevard, behind the Magnolia Business Centre.
Owners Anne Cannon and Marscia Mahoney honed their craft for years working as buyers for Hancock Fabrics. Now, they stock their business with pottery, mirrors, canvases, lamps, picture frames, figurines, baskets, wall art, side tables and other accessories used for decorating.
Cannon and Mahoney’s clients include homeowners, shop owners, decorators and designers.
“We can do everything from big apartment complexes down to a single item,” Cannon said. “We do a lot of stuff but people don’t really know it because we’re kind of hidden back here.”
They do special pricing for wholesale clients. They also have a warehouse in the back that features half-price items. And, Deco Direct keeps all of its table lamps priced below $50.
Cannon said she’s able to keep the prices down because they buy items by the truckload.
They also offer designer fabrics for $2 and $5 per yard.
The women also do free decorating consultations in the store. Customers bring in pictures of rooms or offices and the women help the customers pick out wall art, side tables and other accessories to complete the look.
