Grubbs Barber and Style Shop
• Randy Grubbs has been cutting hair for about 30 years. He’s a third-generation barber. For the past 17 years, he’s been snipping and styling at his Plantersville business, Grubbs Barber and Style Shop.
He cuts hair for men and children. Beth Goff, his employee of 10 years, handles the women’s cuts and styles.
“Sometimes I look at going into the local barbershop like going into your local tavern,” Grubbs said. “People come in here and unload because they feel comfortable. They want a place they can talk.”
Other customers want to get in and out of the shop – a goal Grubbs said he makes a priority.
Last year, he expanded his business into tanning. It’s been a good move and has helped grow his hair business, Grubbs said.
His son Michael also moved his business, Grubby World, into the building. Grubby World is a computer sales and repair business.
“Over a period of time, you will see results,” Randy Grubbs said. “I’m a strong man of faith and I know if I put God first, He’ll take care of things. It takes a lot of giving up of things to conquer a goal. You have to have a lot of ethics and keep at it.”
