U-Save Car and Truck Rental manager Chris Lindley said weekend business is brisk.

TUPELO – U-Save has been in the rental car business for more than 30 years. The Tupelo location has been open since 1998.

Car and truck rentals are available for businesses, individuals and families.

Chris Lindley, manager of the Tupelo store, said his location has a regular stream of customers.

“We have a lot of people like clockwork,” he said. “Like everybody in town, we’re a big weekend market.”

By that, he means customers often rent vehicles to take out of town, rather than driving their own vehicles.

“We rent a variety of sizes, makes and models,” he said.

Large passenger vans are very popular, he added.

“And one of the biggest things we have is that we have cash rentals. A lot of places don’t do that,” Lindley said.

Owner Casey Skelton also has locations in Starkville and Louisville.

Lindley said having a local connection allows U-Save to serve its customers better.

“We can make decisions here, and not have to wait on somebody else decide on what to do,” he said. “We use common sense. And we make it pretty easy for you to rent a car.”

Behind the Tupelo U-Save is Covenant Storage, which opened in 2009. Lindley also oversees its operation.
