Weezie’s Deli and Gifts

• Weezie’s Deli and Gifts will celebrate 10 years in business in September.
Vivian Lee started the business the week of Sept. 11, 2001, with the idea that it would be a good part-time job for her son when he wasn’t firefighting.
She named the business after her mom, Weezie, who now is 83. Two large pictures of her are displayed on the wall.
“Naming it after Mom set a precedence for what we wanted to strive for,” Lee said. “You’re always excited about going to Mom’s and you’re never in a hurry to leave. … From the beginning, a visit to Weezie’s would be an experience, not just a quick bite to eat.”
Weezie’s uses specialty Boar’s Head deli meat in its sandwiches. The most popular items are the reuben, steak wrap and homemade chicken salad and desserts.
The deli also offers sugar-free food that’s popular with diabetic customers.
The front of the shop is dedicated to gift items, especially during the holidays. Weezie’s carries candles, home decor items, pottery, aprons, jellies and jams. It emphasizes locally made items.
