Indian restaurant now open in Tupelo

Shaan India Palace Restaurant is now open in Tupelo.

We had to go by today to see it with our own eyes that, yes, an Indian restaurant has opened in Tupelo. Thanks to Biz Buzz readers for the tips!

The restaurant has been open for a week. It’s in Skyline, less than a half mile outside Tupelo city limits. But, it took us less time to get to Skyline than to the north side of Tupelo from the Journal so don’t let the Skyline address scare you.

Take East Main Street all the way east. Stay on East Main and don’t take the Hwy 6 turnoff. You’ll go through 2 or 3 traffic lights. You’ll cross a little bridge and then you’ll see a gas station on the left with a big sign for Shaan India Palace (2810 Hwy 178 East).

It’s open seven days a week.

Lunch buffet from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Dinner from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m.

The lunch buffet is $9.99 Monday through Friday. Saturday and Sunday, it is $11.99.

The restaurant takes credit, debit and cash.

Pardeep Kumar and his father, Jagdish, own the restaurant and the gas station it’s attached to. They’ve owned the gas station for five years.

The menu is quite large and includes the traditional Indian fare: tikka masala, palak paneer, samosas, pakora, tandoori chicken and curries. Plus, it serves beer and wine.
