Amanda Mitchell, clinical educator for respiratory care, was named the January employee of the month at North Mississippi Medical Center.
Mitchell has been with NMMC for 18 years. She has been in her current position for five years. Before that, she worked as a floor respiratory therapist, respiratory therapist in the Critical Care Unit, day-shift supervisor, Mediserve coordinator and interim manager of the Sleep Disorders Center.
Mitchell earned her associate’s degree from Itawamba Community College in 1995.
Judy Murphy was selected as the Tri-State Chapter of the Association for Linen Management’s manager of the year.
This award honors laundry professionals who exemplify excellence in service, quality and leadership. She will also be considered for the national manager of the year award, which will be presented in June.
Murphy is director of the North Mississippi Medical Center Laundry. She has worked with NMMC for more than 21 years.
Last year, Murphy completed the Registered Laundry and Linen Director Program from the Association for Linen Management in Richmond, Ky. The program studies everything that is involved with running an efficient laundry/linen service, including theory, application, infection control, production and operations.
