Seth Hedglin has joined the Ross & Yerger Insurance Inc.’s Future Partner Group sales team.
Hedglin graduated from Mississippi State University with a bachelor’s degree in business administration. He joined Ross & Yerger after working several years as a sales representative with national sales organizations.
Mary Kirk King of Ross & Yerger Insurance has been inducted into the Mississippi State University Insurance Hall of Fame.
King, who graduated from Mississippi State with a Bachelor of Arts in Communication, has been employed with Ross & Yerger since 2007. She has more than 30 years of insurance experience and holds CIC, CPIW and DAE designations.
North Mississippi Medical Center recently named its Excellence in Nursing Award winners:
Marie McCarley received the RN Excellence Award. She earned an associate’s degree in nursing in 1990 in Baltimore, Md., and joined the NMMC staff 10 years ago. She works as a registered nurse in labor and delivery at Women’s Hospital.
Stephanie Gunter received the Excellence in Mentorship Award. She has been employed at NMMC for six years and works as a registered nurse in the emergency department. She previously worked in NMMC’s float pool. Gunter earned an associate’s degree in nursing at Itawamba Community College in Fulton.
Evie "Sha" Crayton of Plantersville received the Nursing Technician Excellence Award. Crayton has been employed by NMMC for 15 years and works as a surgical technician at Women’s Hospital.
Wanda Porter received the Excellence in Advance Practice Award. Porter earned her bachelor’s degree in nursing from the University of Southern Mississippi and a master’s degree in nursing from Alcorn State University. She is certified as a family nurse practitioner by the American Nursing Credentialing Center. She joined the NMMC staff in 2009 and works in labor and delivery at Women’s Hospital.
Semmie Wicker received the Excellence in Non-Traditional Nursing Award. She joined the NMMC staff 22 years ago andis director of Home Health’s wound program. Wicker earned a bachelor’s degree in nursing from Mississippi University for Women in 1982. She is also a Wound and Ostomy Continence Nurse.
