CORINTH – The Office Depot store in Corinth Commons is still on track for opening this year, likely in late August, a store spokeswoman said on Tuesday.
“Typically there’ll be a ribbon-cutting with the store manager and district manager making remarks and giving tours to local businesses,” said spokeswoman Melissa Perlman.
Store personnel also will usually select nonprofit organizations in the area which are awarded monetary donations by the Office Depot Foundation as well as backpacks.
“We like the community to feel a part of the process,” she said.
The company donated backpacks last August to the Corinth School District.
The 21,000-square-foot size is the average for one of their stores, and will include office supplies, technology, furniture, chairs and a copy and print center.
“We’re looking for markets where there is strong business growth by small businesses, and the Corinth market showed us that,” Perlman said. “We’re excited to come to a place where we can be a part of the community where our associates live and work.”
Hiring for about 20 part-time and full-time workers is usually in the month or so before opening, Perlman said.
Interested applicants should check the Web site at www.officedepot.com/jobs to see when the jobs are posted and complete an application. Jobs also will be listed at the local WIN Job Center.
