KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – Mississippi University for Women was the top performer in the 2011 Tennessee Valley Authority Investment Challenge Program, with a 14.94 percent return.
The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga was second at 6.81 percent, followed by the University of Kentucky at 5.13 percent.
Twenty-five universities participated in the annual program, including Mississippi State University and the University of Mississippi.
Over a calendar year, teams of students manage an average of $365,000 of TVA funds per school, by designing long-term investment strategies under the guidance of faculty members.
