NEW ALBANY – Tractor Supply Co. hopes to open a store in New Albany in late April.
The store is under construction at 112 Virginia Way. The company in a press release said it will have 12 to 17 employees at the store, which is its 24th location in Mississippi.
“New Albany is a great fit due to the part-time and hobby farmers and horse owners in the area,” said Lee Weeks, district manager for Tractor Supply Co.
The New Albany location will have a sales floor and support service space. A fenced exterior space will be used for storage and displaying items such as fencing, sprayers and livestock equipment.
The contractor for the project, W.R. Newman of Nashville, Tenn., began construction Nov. 12.
Tractor Supply Co. is the largest retail farm and ranch supply store chain in the United States and has been operating in Mississippi since 1974.
