TUPELO – The sports development staff from the Tupelo Convention & Visitors Bureau started tweeting on Friday.
Twitter is a free social media service that allows users to post short messages, which often include news and updates about what they are doing. Neal McCoy, the CVB’s sports development director, and Hunter Boerner, the sports development assistant, tweet under the name TupeloSports. McCoy said they plan to tweet about events as they are approaching and in progress, as well as where the sports development staff is going (trade shows, scouting potential events).
The CVB started tweeting in May, under the name VisitTupelo. It is manned by Stephanie Moody-Coomer, the CVB’s marketing director.
