TUPELO – The board of the Tupelo Redevelopment Agency met on Thursday, approving the final payment of $10,050 for trees to screen the berm on Elizabeth Street in the Fairpark district downtown.
“The total budget for this project was $45,000 for labor and materials. Approximately $36,000 has been spent so far on dirt work and trees,” said Debbie Brangenberg, executive director of the Tupelo Main Street Association said.
The remaining expenses in the project budget include irrigation and summer seeding.
The board also voted to approve a new contractor to manage herbicide and pesticide application. Trugreen was previously contracted to do the work. Dynamic Horticulture won the bid for the 2013 summer season.
