C Spire to begin selling iPhone next week

TUPELO – C Spire will start selling the iPhone 4S and iPhone 4 on Nov. 11 – or as the company noted, 11/11/11.
The company formerly known as Cellular South announced Tuesday it is taking reservations for the new device.
C Spire, based in Ridgeland, is the fourth carrier in the U.S. to sell Apple’s popular phone.
Customers can reserve an iPhone via www.cspire.com/ iPhone and at 1 (855) CSPIRE4.
C Spire will sell various models.
The iPhone 4 8GB model will be $99.99. The iPhone 4S will be $199.99 for the 16GB model, $299.99 for the 32GB model and $399.99 for the 64GB model. Each of the phones require a new two-year contract and data plan.
The wireless carrier also elaborated on its new plans Tuesday. The plans are were rolled out Sept. 26, when the company changed its name. They include “infinite” plans that are geared toward smartphones.
The individual plans start at $50 for 500 minutes and unlimited data and go up to $100 for unlimited everything. Family discounts are available.
C Spire has changed how it charges for streaming data. Before the new plans, streaming was included in data plans. But, the company said Sept. 26 that streaming data would require additional fees.
But on Tuesday, company spokesman Dave Miller said the plans all include free streaming data until 2012. After that, Miller said, the limited-minute plans will have 30 minutes of streaming built in and the infinite plans will include infinite data, including streaming.
C Spire defines streaming data as web activities such as listening to streaming music on Pandora, watching a video on YouTube or watching a movie on Hulu.
