CA golfers advance to State

PITTSBORO – The Calhoun Academy golf team is continuing the school’s long tradition of success on the links by recently finishing in fourth place in the Class A state tournaments last week in Brandon.
Hunter Harmon finished second with a round of 77 and Warner Jones carded an 81 to finish fourth in the tournament for both golfers to qualify for the Overall state tournament this coming Monday at the Hattiesburg Country Club.
W.D. Newlin shot an 87 in the tournament, two strokes off the qualifying mark for the Overall state tournament.
Calhoun advanced to the state tournament by finishing in third place in last week’s North State tournament.
