Carolina RCDC begins making yearly plans

The Carolina RCDC held his regular monthly meeting Feb. 2, 2009. Nineteen members were present.
The meeting was called to order and the welcome was given by Bud Wiygul. Bro. Lance Presley led in the opening prayer and Mary Hodges led everyone in the pledge of allegiance to the flag.
Thomas Conwill gave the devotional. He said that most Bible scholars agree that the song, “The Great Speckled Bird,” symbolizes the church and that the scripture which inspired the writing of the song is Jeromiah 12:9. Conwill then played the song on the dulcimier.
Sandra Cox read the minutes from the January meeting and they were approved as read. The treasure report was given by Guy Pettit. Michael Sullivan and Bud Wiygul gave an update on the storm shelters.
The program for the evening was RCDC Planning for 2009, presented by Thomas Conwill.
Four committees, each headed by a chairman or chairwoman, was submitted for the group’s approval.
Approved committees include activities chaired by Patti Powell; public relations chaired by Thomas Conwill; physical plant chaired by Curtis Hall; recruitment of new members chaired by Sandra Cox. Each committee began making plans for 2009.
Curtis Hall had the closing prayer and the meeting was adjourned until the first Tuesday in March. Thomas Conwill has the Carolina RCDC web site up and running. It is www.carolina rcdc.info. Click on the site to see what’s going on in Carolina.
