Carpenter denied bond in Fulton double murder case

A Fulton man charged with the murder of his elderly neighbors was denied bond this morning.

According to Itawamba County Sheriff Chris Dickinson, Jake Howard Carpenter, 29, of 485 Spencer Road, Fulton, received an initial court appearance before Judge Paul Funderburk this morning, wherein he was officially charged with two counts of capital murder and one count of grand larceny and denied bond. He is currently being held in the Itawamba County Jail.

Carpenter is accused of the March 24 stabbing deaths of Mildred Joy House, 79, and her husband, Fred Doyle House, 77, both of 509 Spencer Road, Fulton.
