BILOXI, Miss. (AP) — Top executives from Boyd Gaming and MGM Resorts International are scheduled to speak at the Southern Gaming Summit May 8-10 in Biloxi at the Mississippi Coast Coliseum & Convention Center.
Keith Smith, president and CEO of Boyd Gaming, will deliver the keynote address on May 9, the first full day of conference sessions.
James Murren, chairman and CEO of MGM Resorts International, will be the keynote speaker on May 10.
Larry Gregory, executive director of the Mississippi Casino Operators Association, which co-produces the event with BNP Media Gaming Group, said in a news release that Smith and Murren are expected to speak on how the casino business is evolving.
Boyd, which operates five properties in Louisiana and Mississippi, closed last fall on its acquisition of IP Biloxi Casino Resort & Spa. MGM, which operates Beau Rivage, the flagship property of the Gulf Coast market, entered into a development agreement last fall with Creative Casinos, operators of Mojito Pointe in Lake Charles, La., and signed a strategic marketing alliance this week with Ameristar, which operates a property in Vicksburg.
The Bingo World Conference & Expo Bingo will be held the same time as the Southern Gaming Summit.
The conference includes a two-day trade show.
