CORINTH – No charges had been filed, but a suspect remained in custody Wednesday afternoon in a shooting on Forrest School Road in Corinth late Tuesday.

Corinth Police Department chief of detectives Capt. Ralph Dance identified the suspect as Akeem Garth, 21, of 291 Munn Avenue, Walnut. Witness interviews were still under way and no charges had been filed.

The two surviving shooting victims are Travis Willis, 26, of 136 C.R. 715, Corinth, who was treated at Magnolia Regional Health Center and released Tuesday, and Wesley Stover, 27, of Forrest School Road, Corinth, who remained in the hospital in good condition as of Wednesday morning, Dance said.

Garth allegedly shot the men when he was attacked by them at a Forrest School Road residence over Garth’s purported assault of Stover’s sister-in-law.

The sister-in-law had not filed a report, and police are investigating the alleged assault as well as the shooting, Dance said.
