Cheryl Pine pleads anew to re-indictment

TUPELO – Cheryl Pine of Tupelo pleaded not guilty last week to charges she was part of a scheme to murder her husband, James.
The District Attorney’s Office told the Daily Journal Thursday morning her re-arraignment hearing was postponed. However, on Friday, Pine’s attorney James Craig of Jackson said the hearing was held.
Pine was first indicted in October 2008 and pleaded not guilty, but concerns about a technicality in the indictment caused the DA’s office to re-write the charges.
She was indicted again July 10, which meant she would need to be re-arraigned.
She is out on $500,000 bond pending a trial in circuit court.
