Child injured in Tupelo house fire

TUPELO – A small boy was taken to the North Mississippi Medical Center for injuries he sustained in a house fire on Lawndale Drive.
Tupelo Fire Department units were dispatched to the house at 1105 Lawndale shortly after 1:30 p.m. today.
The fire began in a bedroom, said Tupelo Fire Chief Thomas Walker. Everyone inside the home made it out, and the boy, who had injuries on his chest, was taken to the hospital.
An investigator was on the scene and will determine the cause of the blaze.
