NEW ALBANY – Four-year-old Karson Stegall was still in Le Bonheur hospital Tuesday hanging on to life from a near fatal gunshot wound to the head Sept. 30.
Doctors woke him up from his coma Thursday, but it was too early, so he was put into the coma again.
Tuesday he was set to have a CT scan and if his numbers were good, doctors were going to wake him up at a slower rate.
Karson is the son of Matthew Stegall and Mallory Trentham, and the grandson of Bill and Chris Hilliard of Endville and Doug and Robin Hicks of Belden.
The boy found a .38-caliber pistol in a truck while in New Albany and was examining it when it fired.
